Evacuation of Chronic Subdural Hematoma (SDH)

Know Surgery Details

A Chronic Subdural Hematoma (SDH) is a slow-growing collection of blood between the brain and its outer protective covering (dura mater), often resulting from minor head trauma, especially in older adults or individuals on blood thinners. This condition can cause progressive neurological symptoms such as confusion, memory loss, weakness, and difficulty with movement. The evacuation procedure involves a minimally invasive surgical technique where a burr hole is drilled in the skull to drain the accumulated blood, relieving pressure on the brain and preventing further neurological deterioration.
