Silent Symptoms, Serious Risks: Free Kidney Health Camp in Siliguri Promoted Early Detection

June 6, 2026 Renowned Nephrologist and Medical Experts Provided Guidance and Valuable Advice

Siliguri, 6th June, 2026: In a significant initiative towards community wellness and preventive healthcare, Desun Hospital Siliguri organized the Desun Kidney Care Free Health Camp. The comprehensive screening and consultation camp was held on 6th June, 2026, from 11 AM to 3 PM within the hospital campus.

The health camp aimed to address the rising burden of renal diseases by providing the public with direct access to specialized medical expertise and critical diagnostic screenings at no cost. Dr. Rajarshi Banerjee, Consultant Nephrologist, Desun Hospital Siliguri, led the medical team and offered free consultations alongside a dedicated team of physicians.

To ensure a thorough evaluation, registered participants received a suite of essential diagnostic tests completely free of charge, including Complete Blood Count (CBC), Serum Creatinine, Viral Serology, ECG, blood pressure, height and weight measurements, along with clinical consultations with both Dr. Banerjee and a general physician.

In addition to the complimentary screenings, Desun Hospital extended a special 50% discount on all further investigations prescribed by Dr. Banerjee during the camp. The offer remained valid for seven days, ensuring that patients could seamlessly access advanced diagnostic support without financial strain. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rajarshi Banerjee said, “We are witnessing an alarming increase in the prevalence of chronic kidney disease, often driven by silent contributors such as diabetes, hypertension and lifestyle changes.

Since kidney disease frequently progresses without early symptoms, timely screening and early detection are absolutely vital to preventing irreversible damage. Our camp was designed to break down barriers to specialized care. We strongly encouraged individuals experiencing potential symptoms, or those with high-risk factors such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or a family history of renal ailments, to undergo comprehensive screening and consultation.”

Mr. Sajal Dutta, Chairman & Managing Director, Desun Hospital, emphasized Desun’s commitment to public health and said, “Desun Hospital has always been deeply committed to elevating community health through proactive and preventive care. Chronic kidney conditions require long-term management, making early intervention a clinical necessity.

Through this free health camp, we sought not only to provide care but also to build awareness and empower individuals to take charge of their renal health. Initiatives like this reflect our ongoing dedication to making high-quality, advanced healthcare accessible to all sections of society.”
