What is PCL?

The Posterior Cruciate Ligament, or PCL, is one of the main ligaments in the knee and injury to this ligament may be seen in a variety of settings.

What is the arthroscopic procedure?

Arthroscopy is a surgical procedure which allows your doctor to look at the inside of a joint in your body through a thin viewing instrument called an arthroscope. During the procedure the arthroscope is inserted into your joint through a small cut in the skin. The machine has a light source and video camera attached to it. Images from the camera can be seen on a video monitor. These magnified images provide a clear picture of your joint.
